Online Exam Review - Student/Teacher ChatThis is a featured page

The wiki world offers so many tools for collaboration and communication using chat. During the days leading up to tests, I find students online each evening, eager to chat online with me about the course content, and adding a chat screen right into the Wiki page made this possible.

I have since added a permanent "Test Review Center" to the homepage at Welker's Wikinomics. Students know that the night before a unit test, they can find me online ready to answer their questions as they study!

Wetpaint allows users to include a chat screen on the wiki where anyone on a certain page can chat in real time with anyone else on the page. Here's what I mean:

  • Try chatting with people in the room right now.
  • Try changing your chat name to your real name.
  • How could you use such a feature on your class wiki to enhance student learning?
  • How could students use such a feature to enhance their own understanding of concepts?

Do students actually use the wiki for test review?
Let the numbers answer this one. Below is a Sitemeter (free with a Wetpaint wiki) bar graph showing the number of page views at Welker's Wikinomics during the month of October. Guess which two days the tests were on... If you guessed October 26th and the 29th, you're right! How'd you know?
